Copyright:

Our aim is to get guests to both see and photography stunning scenery and wonderful wildlife. Whilst copyright will remain with those who captured the photographs a condition of booking is that we, at Kirkwood, will be allowed to use, for future publicity purposes for example, any photographs taken at the event. We would never sell them but would hope to show them off.

Accommodation:

You will stay at Kirkwood in one of our comfortable 3 star cottages. Each participant has their own bedroom but will share the cottage with others. These cottages are normally self-catering, however for the School all meals (full Scottish breakfast, packed lunch, evening meal) are included in the cost. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided, however alcoholic drinks are not and participants are requested to bring their own.

Weather and photography:

Guests are reminded that weather can be highly changeable and varied when working with outside photography and wild species. Guests may opt out of any part if they wish to rest, and the itinerary may have to change depending on the weather conditions. Only force majeure would prevent the whole event from taking place because we can learn indoors but we do point out that once booked and paid no refunds are given in any circumstances and we recommend a suitable holiday insurance policy to cover you, the guests, for any unseen eventualities.

Location:

Kirkwood is a mixed farm situated by the River Anna in the heart of the Dumfriesshire countryside. It is located almost in the centre of the UK – only 10 minutes off the M6/M74 Glasgow-London motorway. There is a mainline train station at Lockerbie, just 4 miles away, but your own transport is recommended.
